Digital Curation Institution Lecture Series

This afternoon I attended the introductory lecture of this year’s Annual Spring Lecture series titled “Thingformation: Informing thing cultures, curating digital heritage.” The speaker is Dr. Costis Dallas, formerly at the University of Toronto’s Museum Studies program, currently based in Athens.

A few topics he mentioned he wants to discuss: materiality and thingness; broadening the definition of what “data” should be considered in digital curation to include objects; communities of practice and interpretive communities; the subversion of the notion of “fixity.”

I look forward to the rest of the series.
